Newcastle based corporate finance boutique, WilliamsAli, has announced its latest charity of the year as The People’s Kitchen.

Following  a successful year raising in excess of £8,000 for its previous charity of the year, Nerve Tumours UK, WilliamsAli will now be raising vital funding and collecting food and toiletries for The People’s Kitchen.

Originally set up in 1985 by founder Alison Kay, The People’s Kitchen operates as a safe haven for vulnerable people across Newcastle.

Now operating with over 300 volunteers who support the homeless and vulnerable by serving over 250 meals every day, 365 days a year, the guiding principles of the organisation are friendship and food.

To make sure everyone receives the friendship they need, they also operate a support call service to those who need help to combat loneliness or mental health challenges.

Of the announcement Phil Williams, Managing Director of the firm said  “Everyone at WilliamsAli acknowledges the importance of the work that The People’s Kitchen delivers. We are all excited about this announcement and as a team we have many ideas of what we can do to support the cause. We are looking forward to a year of raising funds through various challenges and events.”

A key part of their fundraising efforts will be the annual WilliamsAli Ryder Cup style golf day which has become a firm fixture in the professional services calendar.

Maggie Pavlou of The People’s Kitchen said of the announcement “It is such a pleasure to see that the WilliamsAli team have chosen us as their charity of the year. As we operate exclusively with volunteers, and receive no government funding our work across the city is needed more than ever before. To have corporates based here acknowledge that our work is vital is invaluable.”
